Oh man, so many interesting things about this clip.. Just stumbled across this gem:
It’s not an image this time but it is papyrus. Since it’s not really design based I’m going to withhold judgement, but we all know what I would’ve said.. Watch the video to the end, trust me it’s worth it.
Papyrus. Everyone has seen it. Many know what it looks like. Everyone hates it. Right? Papyrus has gotten a bad rep because of how overused it has become, but does that make it a bad typeface? It has been used on the smallest business logo to the largest movie blockbuster and everything in between. The truth is, a vast quantity of people like it. As a graphic designer, I know the difference between a free font and an obscure unique one that you have to search for or modify yourself, clients and customers for the most part do not. In fact, every time that I design something for someone for the beginning stages when figuring out a typeface to use, I show the client a papyrus solution just to see if they will like it.
In no way am I saying that papyrus is the best font out there, but it works great at certain times. The point of this blog is to find the best uses of papyrus, and of course the worst. I will be showing you uses of the typeface and telling you YES or NO, and explaining why.
